Harry & Abbey
There are some proposals that feel like they’ve been lifted straight out of a romance novel.. Harry and Abbey’s engagement at Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds was exactly that.
Harry wanted to create something unforgettable for Abbey, so he worked with the wonderful team at the Cotswold Proposal Planners to design a trail of clues around the breathtaking grounds of Euridge. Each step brought Abbey closer to the most important question of her life and eventually, the trail led them down to the iconic Euridge boathouse, one of the most romantic spots in the Cotswolds.
But here’s the twist: we did the entire setup and photoshoot in the middle of a thunderstorm. Yes, thunder, lightning, and rain didn’t let up, but far from spoiling the day, it made the whole proposal even more atmospheric and dramatic. With Abbey’s excitement, Harry’s huge smile, and the storm rolling overhead, it felt like nature itself was celebrating with them.
And let’s not forget their gorgeous little cockapoo, Ellie, who trotted along with them and stole plenty of hearts (and a few photos!) on the day. Having Ellie there made the whole experience even more personal, adding that warm touch of family love to such a big milestone.
As a Cotswolds engagement photographer, I always tell couples that the weather is part of the story – and this proposal is proof. The storm didn’t dampen the magic one bit; it only added to it.
Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, Euridge Manor is known for its romantic, fairy-tale setting. From hidden gardens to sweeping countryside views and, of course, the famous boathouse, it’s a place designed for unforgettable love stories. Harry chose perfectly and Abbey’s reaction said it all.
Harry and Abbey’s engagement was everything a proposal should be: thoughtful, romantic, and deeply personal. It was such an honour to capture the beginning of this next chapter in their lives.
If you’re dreaming of your own proposal in the Cotswolds, whether it’s at Euridge Manor or elsewhere, I’d love to help you plan and capture the moment so you can relive it forever.
