Christy & Harry - Love Escape

There’s something so powerful about an elopement - or as I like to call them, a love escape. Stripping away the noise, the expectations, and the stress, it becomes all about two people, their love, and the wild beauty of Cornwall as their witness.

Last Friday, I had the joy of photographing Christy and Harry’s intimate celebration in Truro. Their vision was clear: a day that felt free, authentic, and deeply them. And oh, did it come to life in the most breathtaking way.

We started high above the sea, with the wind carrying their laughter across the cliffs. The Cornish coastline has a way of making everything feel timeless, the waves crashing below, the endless horizon stretching out ahead. It was the perfect setting for a couple who wanted nothing more than to be present with each other, surrounded by nature’s beauty.

As they shared their vows, I couldn’t help but feel that this was what love escapes are all about, the simplicity, the intimacy, the sense of adventure.

Afterwards, we wandered down to the beach, where the golden evening light spilled across the sand. Christy kicked off her shoes, Harry rolled up his trousers, and together they danced in the surf like nobody was watching. These are the moments I live for as a Cornwall elopement photographer, the in-between, unposed glances that tell the real story of love.

The sea breeze tangled Christy’s hair, Harry couldn’t stop smiling, and the two of them moved as if the world had shrunk to just the tide, the cliffs, and their promises to each other.

Elopements are often misunderstood as ‘running away,’ but for me, they’re about running towards somethin, towards freedom, towards intimacy, towards a day that reflects who you truly are. Christy and Harry chose a Truro love escape because it stripped away everything that didn’t matter, leaving only what did: love, joy, and adventure.

Whether it’s windswept cliffs, hidden coves, or golden Cornish beaches, a love escape allows you to write your own story.

Thinking of Your Own Cornwall Love Escape?

Christy and Harry’s day was a reminder that weddings don’t need to follow a rulebook to be beautiful. If you’re dreaming of your own intimate elopement in Cornwall, on the cliffs, by the sea, or somewhere secret and wild, I’d love to capture your story.
