Dylon & Jasmine
When I think of the most memorable proposals I’ve ever photographed, Dylon and Jasmine’s Farncombe Estate proposal will forever be one of my favourites. As a Cotswolds wedding and proposal photographer, I’m lucky to witness incredible love stories unfold, but this one had a twist straight out of a fairytale.
Set against the rolling hills of the Cotswolds countryside, this proposal was beautifully planned by the talented team at The Cotswold Proposal Planners, who created the most romantic setting for Dylon to ask Jasmine the question of a lifetime.
A Proposal with a Feathered Twist
When I arrived at the Farncombe Estate, Jasmine and Dylon were enjoying a flaconry session in the woods. Jasmine thought they were simply enjoying a quiet afternoon activity together. What she didn’t know was that moments later, a little owl called Billie would change her life forever!
Billie the barn owl flew towards Jasmine, carrying her engagement ring in a tiny pouch attached to her leg.
The look on Jasmine’s face was pure astonishment. It was one of those moments where time seems to stop, the kind that makes my heart race as a photographer. As Billie landed gracefully on Dylon’s arm, he took the ring, dropped to one knee, and asked Jasmine to marry him.
Capturing the Magic
As someone who specialises in Cotswolds proposals and weddings, my approach is always to photograph moments as they unfold naturally, the emotions, the laughter, the small details that tell the story. This proposal had all of that and more.
The sunlight filtered through the trees just as Jasmine said yes, casting a warm golden glow over the scene. I focused on the quiet connection between them; the way she covered her face in disbelief, the tears in Dylon’s eyes, and Billie perched calmly beside them as if she understood she’d just played a part in something truly special.

A Moment They’ll Never Forget
After the proposal, Dylon and Jasmine took a quiet walk through the estate, hand in hand, still in awe of what had just happened. Billie even posed for a few portraits before returning to her handler, the perfect touch to a perfect day.
It’s moments like this that remind me why I love what I do. Being a Cotswolds wedding and proposal photographer means I get to witness and preserve once-in-a-lifetime memories.
