Frequently Asked Questions

What is the standard process for booking a wedding photographer?

Most couples like to book in their photographer a year or so prior to their wedding day, which gives your photographer enough time to get to know you as a couple and plan for the day.

This isn’t always possible, however, as some couples experience last minute changes, cancellations etc. (Let’s not talk about 2020!) So whatever your timeline may be, whether you are getting married a year from now or a few days from now; I like to provide a free consultation for all my couples to talk through the day before asking them to secure the date.

I will ask you about your venue, your guest list, your groomsmen and bridesmaids and what kind of style you are after. I specialise in relaxed, documentary style wedding photography that offers a chance for traditional lineups, if desired. After our initial consultation, time dependent, I will then visit your venue if I haven't shot there before, to get a feel for how the light will look on the day.

I always send my couples a contract and deposit invoice, which is all done online.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes! I do. In fact, these are some of my favourite shoots to plan with couples. It’s a great way for me to get to know you both and vice versa, so you can decide if I really am the right fit for you. I travel to you on a day of your choosing and shoot for up to 2 hours. If you would like to add an engagement shoot onto your wedding photography package, please don’t hesitate to ask.

How long after the wedding will it take for the photographs to be ready?

My timeline for delivering photo albums is 6-8 weeks. I will deliver your images via an online gallery and they will be ready to save and print straight from there.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?

I am based in The Cotswolds and cover lots of the South West of England. However, I am more than happy to travel worldwide if needed. I love what I do and distance is not an issue if you are concerned about the fact that I am not based nearer to your venue.

What happens if you become too sick to photograph our wedding?

I am fully prepared for this circumstance as I have had many experiences of standing in for photographers who fall ill or have an accident prior to a wedding - it’s life! It can happen! I have between 5-10 backup photographers who’s style reflects mine, who are professional, reliable and ready to step in should the worst happen.

Do your prices include VAT?

Yes, all wedding packages are inclusive of VAT.
