Frequently Asked Questions

What is the standard process for booking a luxury wedding photographer?

Most couples like to book in their photographer a year or so prior to their wedding day, which gives me enough time to get to know you properly as a couple and plan for the day.

This isn’t always possible, however, as some couples experience last minute changes, cancellations etc. (Let’s not talk about 2020!) So whatever your timeline may be, whether you are getting married a year from now or a few days from now; I am happy to take your booking if we are a good match.

I will ask you about your venue, your guest list, your groomsmen and bridesmaids and what kind of style you are after. I specialise in relaxed, documentary style wedding photography that offers a chance for traditional lineups, if desired. After our initial consultation, time dependent, I will then visit your venue if I haven't shot there before, to get a feel for how the light will look on the day.

I always send my couples a contract and deposit invoice, which is all done online

Do you offer engagement photography shoots?

Yes! I do. In fact, these are some of my favourite shoots to plan with couples. It’s a great way for me to get to know you both and vice versa, so you can decide if I really am the right fit for you. If you would like to add an engagement shoot onto your wedding photography package, please don’t hesitate to ask.

How long after the wedding will it take for the photographs to be ready?

My timeline for delivering photo albums is 6-8 weeks. I will deliver your images via an online gallery and they will be ready to save and print straight from there.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?

I am based in The Cotswolds and cover lots of the South West of England. However, I am more than happy to travel Worldwide if needed. I love what I do and distance is not an issue if you are concerned about the fact that I am not based nearer to your venue.

What happens if you become too sick to photograph our wedding?

I am fully prepared for this circumstance as I have had many experiences of standing in for photographers who fall ill or have an accident prior to a wedding - it’s life! It can happen! I have between 5-10 backup photographers who’s style reflects mine, who are professional, reliable and ready to step in should the worst happen.

We are very nervous in front of the camera, is that OK?

Absolutely! Many couples tell me they feel nervous about being photographed, especially on their wedding day. As a relaxed, natural wedding photographer, I specialise in making you feel comfortable so your genuine emotions shine through. You don’t need to know how to pose - I’ll guide you gently and keep things fun, so you can focus on enjoying the moment. My candid wedding photography style means I capture the laughter, happy tears, and little details without you feeling staged or awkward.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Rain can actually make your wedding photos even more magical! I am experienced in working with all weather conditions. Whether it’s using umbrellas for romantic shots, finding cosy indoor spots, or embracing dramatic skies for outdoor portraits, we’ll make it work beautifully. I always bring backup plans, extra lighting, and creative ideas so you can relax and enjoy your day, rain or shine. Some of my favourite wedding photos have been taken in the rain, with reflections, raindrops, and soft, diffused light creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

Can we print our photos?

Most definitely. All of your images are delivered in high-resolution digital files, so you can print them anywhere - from small albums to large wall art. Many couples choose to create wedding albums, framed prints, or canvases to display their favourite moments. I can also provide guidance on print sizes and professional labs if you’d like, so your memories look stunning in any format.
